1 in 3 people who visit food banks in Canada are children. This means over 300,000 children struggle with food insecurities; even more so in the summer when breakfast and lunch programs end. Which is why in 2016 After the Bell was created by Food Banks Canada to bridge this gap. Through the program, kid-friendly and nutritious lunches are made available to children in need across the country.

Compass Group Canada is proud to support this amazing organization, one that gives kids a chance to enjoy their summer without having to worry about where their next meal will come from.

After the Bell

In 2016 we helped pack 12,000 food packs. They were distributed to communities in Ontario and Saskatchewan.

240 volunteers, including Compass, helped pack 30,000 lunch packs. The lunch packs were distributed to communities in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Southwestern Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

300 corporate volunteers, including Compass, helped pack 30,000 lunch packs. These packs were distributed to eight provinces and one territory in the summer.

Over 900 corporate volunteers, which included Compass and some of our suppliers, helped pack 100,000 lunch packs this year. These lunch packs will be delivered to 58 communities during the summer months.
