Marquise Hospitality Celebrates Seniors Month

June marked Seniors Month in Ontario, a special time dedicated to seniors who have contributed to our society through their insight and wisdom. For our Marquise Hospitality team – who are committed to their Resident First senior living experience, it is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the amazing people they are dedicated to caring for each and every day. Although this month is officially recognized in Ontario, Marquise celebrated it across Canada.

 

The team hosted multiple special events throughout the month as part of their Brighter Smiles campaign. This program aims to spread joy and make residents feel extra special. While fun is a key element, these events serve a deeper purpose – they create perfect moments for staff and residents to connect.

 

But wait, there’s more! To take things up a notch, the team distributed Brighter Smile kits. Each home received a kit filled with sticky notes, buttons, cards, and make-a-wish notes, all featuring positive messages and cheerful graphics. The staff got creative hiding these little mood-boosters all around! Residents would discover friendly notes on their nightstands or find cheerful messages on their tables during meals. The best part? Seeing their faces light up when they found these surprises! The staff also wore buttons to add a little extra cheer to their uniforms, making the whole experience even brighter.

 

Each team member at Marquise brings a genuine passion for caring for seniors, knowing that even the smallest interactions can create a big impact. What’s really special is that many come from unique journeys! Some were inspired by caring for their own loved ones, while others discovered their passion through volunteer work. Regardless of their paths, they bring diverse backgrounds and skills that truly make a difference in residents’ lives. They find happiness in moments that create lasting memories such as sharing a laugh over a meal or organizing engaging and fun activities. It’s these human connections that make their work meaningful.

 

We think Jerrett Bordian, one of District Managers, captured why we love what we do – best – “My passion has evolved over the years for hospitality naturally, but I still do it for the same reasons that got me hooked in the first place and that’s to put a smile on people’s faces, being able to make a difference in the moment, in their day and sometimes, their life.”

But it’s not just Jerrett who feels this way! This sentiment runs throughout the entire Marquise team. They are all about creating moments that matter! Every team member, regardless of their role, is dedicated to building meaningful relationships and connections with each resident they interact with.
