Celebrating the Launch of Unidine Canada

In January 2026, Compass Group Canada proudly introduced Unidine Canada, a retirement living brand dedicated to raising the bar through fresh, scratch-cooked meals, innovative dining, and a culture deeply passionate about the people it serves.
To celebrate this milestone, we brought together partners, clients, and industry leaders for an evening that captured the spirit of this new chapter. The event featured a panel discussion, “Reimagining the Future of Retirement Living”, moderated by Philip Salmon, VP of Strategic Alliance Group. Joining the conversation were Mary Polak, CEO, BC Care Providers Association; Ron Pike, CEO, Elim Village; Dan Levitt, BC Seniors Advocate; and Celebrity Chef Vikram Vij — a group whose collective insight and passion for this space made for a truly memorable exchange.
The panelists shared thoughtful perspectives on the future of retirement living. The conversation touched on the importance of giving seniors more voice and choice, the role food and culture play in bringing people together, and how innovative partnerships and policies can better support independent living. A recurring theme throughout the discussion was the need to move beyond outdated perceptions of retirement homes and focus on creating communities where seniors can build meaningful connections through great food and a strong sense of belonging.
